Why become eco friendly?
Saving the planet or taking care of the environment is not really my thing. I honestly don’t care about what happens globally as long as nothing happens to my family, my home and the ones I love. The fact is that I don’t have time for this, as every single minute of my time has been devoted to making money and as per me the world is anyways going to end and at least if I have enough money, then I will have the things that I want to have.
These are the kind of thoughts that I was moving with for a long time, till I saw a display stand in a superstore very close to our home, saying ‘are you paying more than you use’. The thought just stuck in my mind and within no time I started thinking about ways I could reduce the unnecessary usage of resources in both my work and home. This is the first time I realized that being eco friendly can save money and it is not just to save the people who are living in coastal or flood prone areas.
I understand that majority of the energy produced today is produced by burning fossil fuel and burning them is causing global warming. Global warming is causing the ice around the poles to melt and the water from the melted ice is raising the sea levels. But for me who lives in the center of my continent how does it matter. But even then I am working towards making my home eco friendly, simply because it saves money. With the prices of oil and cost of living going high every day it surely makes sense to stop wastage of electricity, water and gas. Eliminating the wastage of these precious resources will not only be indirectly beneficial for the planet, but directly reduce the expenses for my home.
